"Recession", "Global Meltdown" terms that looked aliens a couple of months back looks like a certain reality. With the Japanese Economy announcing itself being hit by the 'R' word, it seems now that no country has been spared. From US to Australia, Germany to Japan everybody has been affected by Recession, albeit the manners have stark contrasts.

More and more companies are announcing layoffs and cutbacks. Investment bankers, who until last year, were accused of offering obscene salaries to any and every individual coming out of a top B-School, have been completely wiped out. Thanks to sub-prime.

Industrial production has been continously decreasing, marketing budgets coming to a halt, cutbacks in IT spending - all this can be clearly heard in the Industry news on every channel. So where do we stand. Obviously, no miracle but drupal vendors are also hit by the recession with more and more clients avoiding new contracts.

But only companies having solid fundamentals can whether this storm and one of them is Gloscon. Gloscon is a product and service oriented company providing Drupal based products and servies. Gloscon is in the process of acquiring more than 5 new drupal projects (3 are in the final stages) that will engage its Drupal team for the next 8 months. That itself would speak about the amount of work that is being done by Gloscon in India. Gloscon has also been aggressively pushing to hire high end developers at its India development center. More than 15 developers and interns would be joining the company for different Drupal and Ruby on Rails projects.

Gloscon expects increased sales on account of the launch of its Hosted solution (Galaminds) in the current quarter. Gloscon is also bullish on the next 2 quarters with its Indian arm returning increased sales in the local market.
