Open Architecture Network
Open Architecture Network is an online, open source community.
It is dedicated to improving living conditions through innovative and sustainable designs. Its a brainchild of Architecture for Humanity and is supported by Sun Microsystems, AMD, Creative Commons among other partners.
Gloscon initially was involved with the OAN project as advisors to help them in the development of project by taking R&D tasks and giving our inputs in terms of technology, best practices, Drupal Standards, etc. It helped them immensely in taking decisions during critical stages of the project.
The website for Open Architecture Network was being created by different developers from around the world. The biggest challenge was to work in a distributed team environment and still make sure that the site worked seamlessly through flawless integration of different modules and codes.
We optimized our channels of communications and made sure that we work in-line with the coding standards which helped us in closely integrating all the modules.
Result
Open Architecture Network has become a benchmark for many non-profit sites with its extensive taxonomy and ease of use and flexibility
